Auris HSD Full Hybrid Concept
The Auris HSD Full Hybrid Concept, a world premiere, is exclusively designed for the European market. It introduces full hybrid technology to a mainstream model, the first step in deploying Hybrid Synergy Drive® (HSD) across Toyota’s entire range. Along with exceptional fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions, the customer will experience a refined and sophisticated driving experience. The Auris HSD Full Hybrid accelerates from 0-100 km/h in approximately 10 seconds, yet returns class leading combined cycle fuel economy, and CO2 emissions below 100 g/km. Solar panels covering the roof allow power ventilation. Inside, dash-top solar panels recharge mobile phones or music players in purpose-made charging trays.
New Prius Plug-in Hybrid Concept
The latest development in Toyota’s plug-in vehicle programme, the Prius Plug-in Hybrid Concept recharges from a conventional electricity outlet in just 1.5 hours. When in EV mode, the high output lithium-ion battery pack ensures strong, seamless acceleration, a maximum speed of 100 km/h, and a travel distance of approximately 20 km on a full charge –10 km more than its nickel metal hydride predecessor. The Prius Plug-in Hybrid Concept generates CO2 emissions below 60 g/km and achieves a significant reduction in PM and NOx. In early 2010, over 500 units will participate in a limited lease programme worldwide, with more than 150 in Europe. This will allow Toyota evaluate each technology enhancement in a real-world environment, asses the market response, and understand which product characteristics are appealing and why.
All-new Land Cruiser
The all-new Land Cruiser’s off-road capability has been significantly enhanced through the introduction of a Multi-terrain Select function, a four-camera Multi-terrain Monitor, a Steering Angle Display and Crawl Control. There’s a choice of two engines: a 205 kW/249 DIN hp 4.0 litre Dual VVT-i V6 petrol engine or a 127 kW/173 DIN hp 3.0 litre four-cylinder turbodiesel. CO2 emissions of both engines have been cut by 12%. The turbodiesel returns best-in-class fuel consumption of 8.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 214 g/km combined cycle.
A new, electronically modulated Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) can be combined with the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) with Roll Posture Control, and rear air suspension with Height Control. In a more refined and spacious cabin, seven-seat versions feature second-row seats with a 135 mm sliding range, a 40:20:40 seat back, and a walk-in function for third-row access. Adjusted independently, third-row seats have an optional power function.
